Curious: I haven't touched either uBlock or NoScript.
Everything is back to normal now: has happened a couple of times this morning.

It's NoScript, something flakey going on: it's started blocking whitelisted sites.
Disabled it and everything's fine.

:)
I had a similar thing a while back. Was convinced I'd broken the site at first but doing the requests via command line I saw everything was fine and knew that it basically had to be something in the browser... an extension I'd installed.

@Velocio Can I apply a search string to the https://www.lfgss.com/trending/ so it omits the classifield section? (too much classifield noise in the trending function).
-
• #6206
No.
The trending has no filter capability.

I'm trying to look at the gifs thread. Seconds after it loads it bumbs me back to 'following'. On windows phone 😁

I had the only other person I know with a Windows phone to check it out, and it works for him.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's rather annoying that I know this,
but,
there can be three different concurrent versions of Windows 10 Mobile:

Mine must be the dodgy one... As soon as it brakes I'll android again. Too much windows phonbia on here

I'm not suggesting you waste any time on the (probable) dead end that is Windows 10 Mobile.
I mistakenly bought a Lumia 535 for not much for use as an activity tracker,
then found despite the claims it did not have a step counter.
I keep it relatively upto date for use as a podcast player. -

Not that... just impossible to reproduce bugs and issues, no debug mode, not enough devices out there.

Not sure if this has been suggested before, but would it be possible to give the option of ticking a 'can post' option when posting a sale? Then perhaps the post might have an icon next to it or asterisk. I for us out-of-towners it can be a daunting task to find people willing to ship. Just an idea.

It's probably something wrong on my end but it's only affecting my browsing of LFGSS so I'll post it here. In chrome, my LFGSS tab is constantly crashing with an error saying "Google Chrome ran out of memory while trying to display this webpage". Happens more, but not exclusively, on pages with picture attachments. I have plenty of other media rich tabs open, other forums with embedded twitter and youtube links and things I'd expect to hog memory but they don't cause a tab crash. Only had an issue on LFGSS with what I'd assume to be much less memory intensive pages.
FWIW I have 6gb of ram at 3.5gb usage, task manager says the Chrome app is using 282mb. There's a load of chrome background processes that total around 400mb usage.

Any specific page that you are viewing? There's nothing I know of that should cause the issue, but maybe one of the embeds is doing something.
Also... Shift+Escape shows you Chrome task managed which will highlight problematic tabs, pages and extensions.

Currently the most recent page of the 'Functional bikes..' thread in bikes and bits crashes the tab every time. It tends to happen in threads with a lot of image embeds and the tab crashes while the images are loading in, but not always. For example, i can view this thread without issue despite it having loads of pictures. Using the chrome task manager the memory use seems to vary around 26mb - 52mb, doesn't noticeably spike before a tab crash but the tab disappears from the list instantly so I can't see how much it's using when it crashes. As a comparison, scrolling up and down a thread on the SomethingAwful forums with embedded tweets, youtube vids, animated gifs and jpgs is using 75mb of memory.
Pretty sure it'll be something my end though like an extension conflict, or there'd be more people having the same problem. Strange that it's only this site though.
e: Also if I have multiple LFGSS tabs and one crashes then they all do. Other tabs are unaffected.
e2: Might as well consider this solved. It started happening on another site too, I killed each tab individually then restarted so it didn't try to restore my session, then restarted my computer. Seems to be fixed for now. As always, turning it on and off again solves all problems.

I suspect you either:
- Have an extension doing odd things... test by disabling all extensions in Incognito mode and visiting the page incognito.
- Have a bad graphics driver and are using graphics acceleration... test by looking in the chrome flags, disabling graphics acceleration and visiting the pages.
- Have an extension doing odd things... test by disabling all extensions in Incognito mode and visiting the page incognito.

Woah, are names no longer allowed to be full caps.
Just edited the profile and despite my capitalised username present in the username box it comes out with the lower case HHC making me look like an absolute villager. -

SHOUTING was never allowed, but the thing that checked it had a bug.
The bug was fixed a while ago and so it started getting squooshed.
I can manually restore yours, I'll do it tomorrow morning. After I do so, don't edit your profile :)

Ah I see,
hero.Don't bother restoring it, was gonna make myself a schweet gif. avatar.
Thanks anyway though. -
• #6221
That said, if restoring it isn't any trouble then I wouldn't feel too bad trying to persuade you to put it on your agenda.
-
• #6222
Restored.

Hah, I knew I'd broken that ;)
This is your uBlock or adblock config.
Check it... it's got a setting for cosmetic things, and it's guessing wrong.
The site is fine.
