  • Okay, this kills me, but I just can't manage cycling and parenthood.

This was my dry weather, mid-summer vanity machine which I entirely upgraded for last summer to only put about 350 miles on it before going back into hibernation, so frame, pedals and saddle aside, everything has only 350 mile of use...just look at the tyre tread, brake pads or chain ring anodising to see the lack of use!

    Cervelo R5 VWD - 58cm
    Dura Ace 9001 shifters
    Dura Ace 9000 f&r mechs
    Dura Ace 9000 brakes
    Rotor 3D30 cranks
    Rotor Q-rings 52/36t
    Rotor chain catcher
    Ultegra 6800 cassette - 11-28t
Mavic Cosmic Carbone Pro Exalith 2 WTS
    3T Ltd seat post
    3T Pro stem - Ti Team bolts fitted - ±17° - 140mm
Planet X Nanolight compact carbon handlebars
Look Keo Blade pedals - 16nm
Selle Italia SLR Superflow - 130mm
    Arundel Mandible bottle cages
    Arundel Gecko tape

Frame is in excellent condition, never dropped or crashed. I've had a good look over it and the only blemishes I can see are on the drive side a couple of marks in the decals (white line next to the O on downtube and the grey line near the L on the fork) and there is a slight bit of cable rub on the non-driveside headtube, just on the surface of the clear coat, the paint is good.

£2250 shipped, or delivered within reasonable driving distance of Newcastle or York.

I've come to that price just by totting up ebay completed prices and rounding down. If I'm way off, let me know.

Would consider splitting if enough interest.

  • Lovely , too big , but lovely :-)

  • As a soon to be dad his doesn't bode well...

  • Don't blame the kids ,make time .lovely bike shame not to use it

  • Oops, just realised that this was posted in Components, not Bikes. Can someone shift it?

I fought and fought for 18 months to find time, and I managed for a while, but I always felt like a shit taking every Sunday for the club ride, which meant that Saturday had to be 'family' time, which meant the Mrs couldn't have time just for her...not helped by the fact I'm doing a part time degree which means I need to spend a lot of weeknight time studying. But on top of that, our baby doesn't sleep. Typically I'll be up 5 or 6 times in a night and feel like a zombie most days. So now, even if I had all the free time in the world, I'd still probably not be out. And now I have another due in April!

  • Well, I feel like a vulture after reading that^, but I'd happily take all the DA stuff if you do end up splitting (it'd go on the Serotta frame when it's back from paint).

  • If only it was that easy. First couple years is tough. I have 2 kids. Eldest will be 3 soon. Anyways. Lets not keep the thread off track

    Nice bike. Glws

  • Interested in the wheels if splitting

  • This is actually a really decent price delivered. Wish I saw this a while ago. GLWS.

  • What size is the seatpost?

  • 27.2mm x 350mm

  • How much for the wheels if you split

  • Great deal for the full bike. Best frame I've ever owned.

  • And I'd go for cranks and bars if that helps splitting process 😉

  • Interested in that and cages, should it come to it

  • interested in the crankset, if splittage happens. 6 months into the no sleep process for me !

  • I'll take the bottle cages if you split.

  • If someone will take the frame, then I'll split. If not here, then I'll eBay the frame and list the parts here. First dibs to all that have asked.

  • 'new child forces sale' is usually seen on car sites for 2 seater sports cars.
    Shame to see it here.

Good luck with the sale, hope you still keep riding and your little one is in good shape

  • usually seen on car sites for 2 seater sports cars.

    What are you doing there?

  • How much for the frame I may have someone who's interested?

  • I have 4 children;aged 5 to 14; and a wife who runs (marathons too). We both make time. Sit down, talk it over with your Mrs, and agree on the way forward. Your best gift to that child is a happy marriage, and happy Father.

  • How much for frame please if you are splitting?

  • Thanks for all the interest and comments. I have a guy looking at the bike tomorrow to check for fit, then another in-line if that falls through. If neither pan out, then I'll be back with a breakdown of prices for components.

That gives me today and half of tomorrow to decide whether to commit.
