It's an older (2008) model macbook - better for me to spend about AU$300-400 to go 2x300ishGB RAID 0 to get a boost in speed and extend the life of the laptop for another 2-4 years than it is to buy the next gen XPS 15 (not going to a new MBP).
Obvs there is a spinning backup I hookup regularly.
Waist of AU$. One single SSD will be plenty
You ll invest in SSD raid0 only to find out that your aging CPU bottlenecks your marginal gains. Or something.
I currently have a dual SSD+HDD configuration (non raid).
I'll just do a software cleanup or something and wait for a drive to fail. And then spend the saved AUD on a carbon seatpost I'll use as a flower vase.
