It looks like the builder let the yoke get too how when he welded it and the material became too brittle.

Probably. Also that yoke looks way too thin for a bike like that, it has no resistance at all against bending from side to side. Making it an easy target for metal fatigue..

I just read on instagram that he had had the frame metal plated.
That is some shoddy engineering..
And you're right. The plate could've used some additional reinforcement as well! -

It is Poppi/ turbo/ultra romances bike, so trying too hard is possibly all part of the plan. Anyway, I'm not keen, much prefer the Crust Evasion frameset.

Thanks, but I need the width of the Jones Loop, which all other options with requisite sweep sacrifice.
