1940s French Terrot cycle vintage bike

Posted on
  • Nice old, old French randonneur/demi-course made by the much-vaunted Terrot company. This model would have been made at their large factory in Rue André Colomban, Dijon. The frame reference is 737338, which probably dates it to the late 40s, early 50s. There is rust on the rims and calipers and signs of age on the frame, but the cycle is complete with original components and Terrot markings, so is rather a rare old beast. Among the fine features are Durax Super Course cranks, early Le Simplex gears (3 speed - connected and working, but derailleur needs a small weld), very interesting brakes, a splendid saddle and a brass head badge. The frame is approx 56cm. The rims are 26s. £200 ono collected in south-east London or thereabouts. Happy to post with your assistance.
