R36 passat very nice. The dsg in them is beefed up and gives no issues if given fresh oil and filters every 60,000 kays or so. Reserved and rapid enough. Not sure if low down oomph would be enough. It almost sound like dammit wants a diesel...
Good suggestion, this looks nice: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/volkswagen/passat/2008-58-reg--volkswagen-passat-3-6-v6-r36-dsg-4motion-5dr/6607969
But why is this a grand cheaper with half the miles: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/volkswagen/passat/volkswagen-passat-3-6-v6-r36-dsg-4motion-4dr-rare-car--low-miles-f-vw-s-h/5511297
But it's not an estate.
I bought a non estate by mistake. 90% of the time it's fine but annoying for those 10%

I wouldn't buy the saloon, but I'd quite like the estate to have ~50,000 miles fewer and be a grand cheaper.
