It's much more difficult to galvanize an old chassis than a brand new one, and, basically, if you're going to do that, you might as well buy a brand new galvanized chassis for £3000, which the budget didn't allow for. as the chassis was sound, I decided to spend the money making a really thorough job of all the mechanical stuff. This chassis is in good shape, and paint and waxoyl are a very protective finish, they just require a bit more upkeep (an hour or so each autumn, adding a bit more waxoyl where necessary.
That's beautiful. Just out of interest: why didn't you galvanise the chassis?
