Are USB dacs any good? Swapped my main computer from a Mac to a Pc and the sound quality is freaking horrible in comparison and you can't really do anything to improve it. Tried different software but the output is still incredibly flat and weak. Planning on getting a DAC (http://www.audioquest.com/dragonfly-series/) and connect to something like this headphone amplifier so bypass the built in sound card completely and get some more control. https://en.intos.de/product-overview/input-output/headphone-amplifier/8966/inline-ampeq-headphone-amplifier-equalizer-3.5mm-jack-usb-powered
I use a JDS Labs Odac to connect the PS4 to the stereo. It's very very good at what it does.
Also used it to connect the laptop to stereo to listen to some hi Rez stuff but I can't hear the difference beyond 320kbps
