I'd say buy the mounts you want, one of the main problems with the handlebar mounts in them kits is that they are plastic. Dunno about the other uses I guess for other mounts the plastic would work.

+1 to what @Clockwiseis saying. I've found those plastic handlebar mounts pretty useless, much better of spending a couple quid, literally, on something like this.
