I meet a few people who work for the Scott Polar Institute through work. They well up when they talk about going to the Antarctic, like how astronauts talk about space.

My mate is out there on signy island , haven't had any contact for a while, maybe giving him m "the thing" DVD wasn't appreciated.....

I know someone who overwintered at one of the BAS bases... They spent the winter filming a horror movie about what it would be like to be stranded in the Antarctic for winter.
