No, if I close it, it just goes back to the previous google page.
-
• #10553
The address in the bar still says google, it isn't opening like a preview of the page or something like that is it?
-
• #10554
That's different because a film affects how the light is captured and displayed, along with how the chemicals are used to process it. A filter is editing a differently captured image, and I doubt someone using VSCO is shooting in RAW.

that's not an ad unit.
It might be the way their site loads on mobile, or in safari mobile - it also might be where they normally would have an ad unit below the toolbar.
edit: weird that it goes back to Google if you press 'x' but on my phone it dissapears when scrolled.

What about vsco plugins for Lightroom?
Agree with scoble, film choice is as much about looks as filters, it's just another way to change how a photo looks. Same with lense choices and light setup, different means to achieve different visual outcomes.

I agree, different means different outcomes.
I didn't mean it's wrong to use it, I just feel you can get much better / interesting "outcomes" - most of the time thes filtered images look like filter to me, and somewhat "flat".
Whatever, each their own, like I said..

That's interesting. I'd heard about this but didn't put the two together. It's only on some pages as well.
-
• #10560
Are you a professional filmer or photographer?
-
• #10561
Define "professional".
-
• #10562
It's how you earn your money to pay your rent/mortgage/bills.
-
• #10563
If you have to ask...
-
• #10564
Yea I did that and from time to time still do.

okay so I'm in the process of trying to sell my old mac pro (again), what do I need to do, to reformat/clean the boot drive so someone else can use?
Otherwise I'll need to reformat an old drive and reinstall the original OSX, which would make it difficult as it would be 10.4 or something silly, and not sure you'd be able to get it back up to snow leopard/mountain lion...All thoughts welcome..

I can hook ya up with a new instal ISO. Just shout. Nuke the disc!
-
• #10567
Ah I thought about that but I hadn't seen it in Safari and it looks quite different to Chrome and then looking at the ugly Wired site assumed it was something going wrong...
-
• #10568
Yeah. Obvs, it's built for chrome so looks a lot nicer. Also tends to keep page features (and more importantly ad formats) more too.
I guess Safari may support it more in future releases but it's a competitor to Apple's safari reader in a way so they're in no rush.

• #10569
cool, will pm you.
thanks much appreciated.
-
• #10570
Ah ok, makes sense.
Safari only ever opens for me if I click on links, so not sure I'd see amp pages. Or might I?
-
• #10571
Nope. Only through Google search. Though I guess a direct link might work?

Has anyone bought the new Macbook Pro 15" top spec one yet, Keen to upgrade my old macbook pro but haven't heard that many good things about them in the real world yet.
The touch bar is kinda cool but a massive novelty it seems.

Apparently the batteries are "inconsistent". Hold out for rev.B in spring with kinks ironed out.
-
• #10574
Yeah heard that, you think there will be a revision so soon after its been released?
-

Unless it's really urgent, just hold out, first generation product tend to be sketchy.
It's an advert that hasn't loaded properly, close it with the X.
