Agreed, the cranks are a bit naff. The rear D looks utterly dreadful too, so cheap looking. Matte silver? Yuck.
Tight guards surely better than loose ones for side splash. Hoping I will stay dry! Better than no guards.

Tight guards look rad.

Until they pick up a stone and get torn apart.

Wait, this bike that does all the things doesn't have a massive pizza rack yet!

Sharpie out the fade on the parallelogram and the derailleur looks much better. No easy cure for the cranks unfortunately

Only one fix for the cranks.

Looks good; nearly went for one of these frames myself, but the biggest size is still too small.
The previous generation SRAM Rival stuff looked good without the graphics; the new stuff seems to just have a cheaper finish, like the chainsets with the scalloped out arms, more akin to the Apex stuff.

Agreed. But at least it shifts well. My Force 22 on the race bike shifts endlessly better than my Red 10-speed, and previously Rival 10 speed. Shame about the cranks for sure.

Yeh, SRAM front shifting was always dodgy. A Shimano front mech would partly solve it. The chainrings with the cutouts in them were half the problem I think though.

I've got mine as far as it'll go until the rear bridge turns up. There's 28s on there and getting the mudguard to clear the tyre at the front was a bit of a faff but it's all good now. Zip tie bodging to keep the rear one up so the curve of it isn't great, but does the job..

Build looks great so far!
Out of interest, what guards are these? -

Shame about the cranks for sure.
I think they look fine. Force22 cranks look nicer - and weigh a few grams less - but I don't see anything wrong with the Rival crank, visually.

PDW Full Metal.

Carbon init. Couldn't stretch sadly. May buy a new P2M next year and move the one from my race bike into this.

Turned out alright in the end. Finding the ride a bit harsh, 'guards are perfecto.

Scoble to tell you to reduce air pressure in 3..2..
Tight clearance on guards looks nice IMO, you will only know about how effective it is for side splash once you ride it in wet. Sram has a made a point to print graphics on that rival crank to make it look bad ..
