My mom died today.
She did mighty well, made it to 91+ years - a lot of them good ones. Some lyrics from Vic Williams that fit my mom's situation if not my beliefs:
'If you have friends in glory land
Who left because of pain
Thank God up there they'll die no more
They'll suffer not again' -

Sorry to hear that. To echo others; 91 is amazing.
When she was born, life expectancy of women in the UK was 55! She's also lived through arguably the most exciting portion of human history so far. I'm sure she had some stories to tell...

Thanks also to Rich_G, johnnyhotdog and Soul - hers were exciting times for sure, but generally outside the gusts of history.
She followed my Dad from the 40s on in church-related work that included choir directing, bible school (and real) teaching in addition to ministering for a variety of churches across the prairies. Part of this time was spent a little north of here on the narrows of Lake Winnipeg living in Metis communities like Matheson Island and Loon Straits.
Romantically primitive at the time from the pics that we have. -

Sadly Rick Parfitt has gone down, down, deeper and down. RIP.

Ah, shame about Rick Parfitt. So many of these old baby-boomer musicians seem to die in their late 60s. Seeing as he quite consciously carried on doing what he was doing, I doubt he'd find it terribly unjust, though. I've always liked Status Quo and I wonder if Rossi/they'll try to carry on without him. I hope not.

'Bubbles' my wife's pre-school hamster, curled up his toes last night, ironically half way through a Brussel sprout..... Squeak ,( the other one of the two) squoked about 2 years ago. I gave him a good send off though.
I actually shed a little tear for the poor bugger..... He was a lovely tatty ginger fella -

Either Bubbles was very, very old in hamster terms, or your wife is very, very young!

Or the wife is a preschool teach?

There's that too.

They were already advertising next year's gigs as being sans parfit while he was ill so I'd guess that the discussion was had and he told them to keep rocking all over the world.

I've always liked Status Quo
Is this really something you want to admit on an openly searchable forum? Retract your statement and I promise to edit this and remove the quote. Maybe.
