picked up a slightly ratty but interesting looking french track frame recently (possibly off a forumist?). It's destined for every day/pub/beater territory. I wondered if anyone could enlighten me with a little intel. It's made of ishiwata 022, french (so french threaded BB and 22.0mm steerer ID) and I'm currently double checking the seat tube, but suspect 26.8mm (note non functional tuna can shimmed seatpost for pics).
I assume 'Angers Doutre' would be referring to the Velodrome in Angers. The only thing resembling a makers mark is 'EDA' on the BB, who I think is a small french framebuilder, but who also seemed to have supplied things like BB shells for other manufacturers like Gitane and Mercier, so not necessarily the builder of this frame. Any ideas?

Hi, what are these lug pantos from (see fork and two times on the frame), like a large C (similar to the Colnago C), but not with a club inside, but instead with some kind of flag reminiscent of Concorde:
like a mix of these two

Looks like a gitane to me, any ideas regarding its vintage (60s, 70s, 80s?) and whether it's a Mexico or Super Pista?
Seller's pics, disregard the wheels.

Could be one of those forgotten makes with loosely italian names?
- Colner
- Cornelo
I had a frameset with a clover BB cut out and nothing else - I could not ID it properly so sold it for £62 as the frame number was 462 (see what I did there??)

This is my bike. I'm going to be doing a 1200mile tour soon and need to get a tourer. I'm having trouble working out if this bike is worth anything or not? The only PENDLE branding I can find online is http://www.pedalroom.com/bike/big-columbus-max-track-bike-16115
I picked it up on ebay about 7 years ago but it's not seen all that much use. Any tips?
Cheers, Theo

Just got this the other day, has decent quality parts, 105 groupset all over alu frame with an oversized down tube, smoothed out welds. 26.2 seat post
Has a cannondale vibe although the drop outs don't look typical cannondale to me.
Any ideas? Toyo is the other brand frame I've come close to

Does anybody know what rack this is? I've been looking everywhere but can't seem to find any info on it.
Also any info on Canelli frames? Getting hold of one next week which I might restore but can't find decals or any info at all.
Any help would be great.

I just found it in a Pedalroom post and it's a Kashimax Fivegold 8P.

Serial and frame details look a bit 'Lemond' to me. Defo not a Dale though.

Good hubs but not that rare (they made lots). Original spindles and/or 'Open C' period skewers are not going to be cheap.

Trying to work out whether this is an original E.G Bates frame..
I'm wondering if somebody had re-sprayed the frame & used E.G Bates Decals... the nervex lugs look legitimate but those aren't to uncommon anyway. It is a nice low road/racing frame..Thoughts anybody?

Hoping that there might be some Cougar buffs who can help me gain a little more insight in terms of the provenance of the Cougar I picked up. From digging around on Retrobike I'm thinking it might be late 90s, possibly Donohue built. The rear dropouts have "tecnociclo" printed on them and there's no printing or marking at all on the BB shell. I'm really surprised at how light it is even with the Halfords saddle and some other patently heavy bits. Full C-Record throughout with Record Titanium levers and rear mech.
Any help greatly appreciated!

Can someone here tell me if these wheels are real Corima's or not, or id the model/brand? Seem like different brand rims with Corima stickers to me, but I don't know a lot about Corima's. Note the faint text on one of the rims.

Those are the earlier Nervex lugs, so think early 50s. The brazed on cable guide over the bottom bracket may well be a later addition because those sort of things tended to be band on. May be a 70s addition when over-bracket guides were popular.
The paint looks very thick. Original paint was thin enough that it picked out how well the lugs had been cut - it was something the more prestigious frame builders were proud of. On a Bates I would expect custom cut fancy lugs, but they might have made some off the peg frames with Nervex lugs.
Have a look on the classic lightweights site frame builders section. You're looking for some telltale touches like the seat stays, lugs, fork crown; that sort of thing that the builders did to make their frames stand out. Yours doesn't have anything that stands out as distinctive, unfortunately, so it might be difficult to pin down who the frame builder was. Still looks like a nice frame though, even if it's not a Bates.

Thanks Jonny! really interesting points you've made I'll have a look at that site though I've looked a lot at the Bates history I'm wondering if there's more explanation of it's more simple use of the nervex's. I knew they custom made them for people too. I thought it was a nice & light frame regardless, just thought it was almost as if somebody has re-sprayed & used decals on the E.G Bates badges.
Been stripping down a 50's FH Scott. All the chrome had been rattle canned black.. but with like tar not paint..
Anyway what I thought would be average hubs look like they could be quite interesting? I think they might be Campag first generation gran sport track hubs? front 32h, rear 40h with flip flop. Anyone got any more info or thoughts on this? They seem rare as hens teeth and trying to decide on getting rechromed. Cheers!
EDIT: It was only when I stripped the gloop paint I found the "...gnolo" and winged logo on the shell
