  • Out this morning for DPFR's annual Christmas Eve Breakfast Run. A record number of people out due to Christmas falling on a Sunday and lots of people finally not obliged to work to the bitter end.

The general premise of this run is you truck out of Sheffield up the Porter Brook until you run out of up, turn left and run down to Grindleford Station for a full English or variation thereof. No racing, no training, no heroics, just some good old fashioned socialable running for the sake of it. It was one of my favourite runs of the year followed by a free train back to the city centre and a few beers.

If you haven't managed to have a run for the hell of it with no aims and no flagelation, maybe see if you can fit one in during the last remaining week of the year. I reckon that would be a good goal.
