I think it was TV's old account
-
• #762
Why did he leave?
The colnago bore has also gone too.
-
• #763
I'm not sure he did actually leave. I think his account got messed up when the sign-in procedure changed. There was another TV for a bit.
That said, I haven't checked, and if he has left, that is a bit of a loss.
Sarf is definitely gone, which is a bit of a shame as he knew his stuff, if not his bike porn or the rules of. Although the ability for account owners to disassociate their posts and nuke their handle is good from an ownership perspective it's pretty depressing seeing long time threads being owned by 'deleted' .

What happened with Saarf?
Definitely seemed to be a bit viciously hypersensitive on a couple of occasions when someone disputed his considerable Colnago knowledge but otherwise a good egg around the place and a part of the furniture so definitely a loss as you say :(

• #765
I wanted to see how that Geekhouse was going to come out

• #766
What happened with Saarf?
No idea. Not sure I've even met him. But like you say, part of the furniture. His website is here if you need to contact him through there.
Anyway - Gone but not forgotten thread.

I've had Le Col bibs and jerseys before and their winter gear has also been really good.
What's going on with them now? I thought they'd carved out a little niche without going full-on EC1 Craptive.

People only get deleted by request, with a cooling-off period.
If they are no longer here and comments that you know are theirs now show "deleted" as the owner... then they are asked deletion.

TV's departure is a shame.

Got tired of fighting his corner and decided to move on. I can't say I shared his passion, but I respected it.
He didn't always come across well, but I liked his "off piste" style and he was generous with his exceptional expertise.
The concerted baiting was poor form in my opinion, but on the internet (just as in real life) a bandwagon is a magnet for cunts who lack the heart to stand out from the crowd.

Didn't know about his website so thanks for that!
Hopefully he'll be back after a little sojourn in the virtual wilderness though. Apart from the habitable atmospheric conditions on planet lufguss, where else is there in the online bicycle solar system?

I don't frequent the Pron thread much exactly because of some of the pointless bickering that arose so didn't realise it had turned into a longterm baiting session.
If it's like you say, the folks responsible are cnuts and the forum's poorer for it. For any foibles in his overzealous Colnago fetishising he knew a huge amount and was interesting to hear of all his Eroica adventures and off the cuff drop ins on Tulio Colnago :(

Really? The guy was a troll and incredibly offensive to anyone who even tried to lift a finger, frequently posted drunk tirades and called people non-entities/jealous cunts/clowns

• #774
Very much this

His "expertise" is best left to his blog methinks. Hilarious, but a complete asshole
It's taken over 5 years but Fenton has now been found out
