eBay and Craigslist finds

Obscure bit of history on eBay:
Weinmann PBS-300 brake caliper
Never used them but apparently they're awful. Still, nice to see some originality.

I removed a set like this from a bike in Germany a couple years ago. Horrible painful things. They went straight in the bin.

No doubt they're terrible. Just interesting as an odd tangent in bike history.

"PBS" stands for "Progressive Braking System" apparently.

It seems one pad was fixed and the cable caused the other pad to move inwards; presumably when it met the rim, that caused the whole calliper to rotate and press the fixed pad against the rim.

Can't think why they didn't catch on...

SMG are great frames -I have a SMG Stayer. Shame this one is far too small. ( The initials on headtube would have been those of the original owner for whom it was made)

The seat stays and downtube were eye-pleasingly parallel.

Capo has same geo as Caad 5 but colourways are wank save for the silver one imo. Actual Caad 5 colourways are nice.
