    Full on trend #brexitmobile

Met with Caren in July - but its finally happening. And I couldnt be more appyier.
Plan is something pretty similar with the design museum bike -

But with 853/xcr (stays) internal cabling around the non-drive side, different saddle, bars, tape, and Dynamo.

Plan is to get it close to 8kg for fast / comfortable audaxing.

Conundrum. Thru axel or QR? Heard good bad with both. Only run QR with mechanical disc's and no problems..

  • Noice. Paint?
I run SRAM hydro with QR and get some rub. Might be fork/wheel flex though + apparently SRAM calipers run tighter than Shim. Assuming you're going with the latter.

  • Paint... Is going to be the hardest decision. Something simple. I like the Cherubim red..

Might have to go thru axel and save some grams elsewhere. Hmm.

  • Bolt through. No brainer.

  • nice! subbed

  • excite

  • Giro blue is also nice..

Fakkk.. I dont know. Worry about it later

  • High-flake single colour can look (in my view) very nice:

  • Ignore rider weight ;) Scales must be broken.

  • Somebody tell me why bolt thru is a no-brainer? Asking as someone who'd rather have a screwon block to a cassette...

  • Quite suprised I was riding on a 57.5cmm top tube. Always ride a 54cm and thought it would be +1/-2cm. I was quite out.

Mal at Le Beau Velo is really good. Its my first fit so have nothing to compare it too. But he's interested in fixing points of stiffness in the body caused by riding at the wrong position. Gave me a bunch of exercises to do for my lower spine and hips. And talked me through how important staying flexible is on / off the bike - not just for riding but general life stuff.

  • plans for fork?

  • Options are (most probable first)

    1. Enve Gravel Disc (New)
    2. Custom Carbon - designed by Caren - made outside of Peckham.
    3. Kenesis Tracer.

Im going to get Caren to make me a steel fork eventually with a stainless crown - a bit like the one above. But its £££.

Imput welcomed. As essentially I have no idea what Im doing.

  • Needs sexy bolt through steel forks.

  • Don't listen to them, carbon forks are the best. Enve especially.

  • Noiceee. Who made that?

  • Both are good. Carbon probably most functional / logical

  • Pretty sure it's this one from Sklar

  • Wow your measurement are actually very similar with mine. And I would felt very stretch out with those reach measurements.

  • I'd probably go otp carbon, rather than otp steel, but there's something nice about having a frame & fork made by the same person.

  • ENve GRD is nice, but RRP is LOLZ.

  • What @BareNecessities said. Two forks would be pretty neat. As a matter of fact, Ima leave this here from his bike.
Carbon OTP for sure, but since you said you're already going for a steel fork as well...

  • Ou la la.
