Given they've been in operation for 6 months I don't know what conclusions they are trying to draw? The scheme is obviously predicated on a decade timescale of cycling uptake...

South Carriage Drive and West Carriage drive within Hyde Park are complete (part of the East-West cycle highway)
It was quite lovely riding it last night and early this morning.

Stupid cycling. I wish people were more considerate, the point of segregation of cycle lanes is to make it safer, pricks are not helping.
If you fancy a work out go to the gym, it's not a race track.
I'm sorry people are slowing you guys down but people are trying to get from a to b, and have the right to do that safely. If you can't overtake safely don't do it, hang back and there will soon be a better opportunity.
Don't take risks that guy ended up on his back on a fast moving road it could have ended far worse. -

Despite your name you are a little bit slow on the draw.

this ^
that blue paint is well slippy in the wet, for inexperienced riders it could be very hazardous
in the wet i always stay outside it -

Report on effectiveness of the whole 10 year program. Old blue paint = no good, New segregated tracks = good.

The Ealing -Greenford route has had all the civils works on the north side of the Ruislip Road, from the Gurnell swimming pool to Greenford traffic lights just about completed for a couple of weeks. No markings on the wearing surface as of last week.

My folks were in town this weekend - they're both in their mid-late 50s, quite fit and active, but really wary of the potential hazards of London's roads.
A couple of days using Boris Bikes to get around between tourist hotspots (London Eye, Westminster, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, The Tower of London, Borough Market) has been an absolute revelation. The E-W highway along the Embankment and the segregated lane in Hyde Park were particular highlights.
The infrastructure as it stands is not without its flaws, but the fact that my mum can get around quite happily on two wheels without feeling endangered or intimidated by drivers is something London should be very proud of.
Personally I'm not always a fan of using seg lanes, and have posted commuting stories where drivers have used the existence of a lane to bully me, but it's really nice to be reminded how beneficial the lanes are for others.
10/10 Would trundle again.

Unfortunately boris only started towards the end of his mayorship. Had he not pissed around painting blue lines around London for ages much more could have been achieved.
Going by sadiqs current plans esp nine elms cycling is no longer being given the thought it was previously as the son of a bus driver.
Shame the road to amsterdamisation looks to have ended for now.
I was hoping to see a fleet of e bikes ferrying propel around the city safely and effortlessly.
In Japan mum's carry 2 kids and shopping on a ebike and they quietly glide up the gentle hills of Tokyo. -

The criticisms of current cyclists towards tracks seem to be missing the point to me, the tracks are built for those who don't want to play/fight with motor traffic, not those currently happy to brave their way through it all.
The goal of segregated tracks is to enable 8-80 cycling, take a look at the roads you currently think are ok for cycling, then put an unattended 10 year old in there.

Absolutely. More of this sort of thing, definitely.

I think it was Chris Boardman who recently said something along the lines of it's not the cyclists that you need to convince, it's those who don't cycle.
If you're on here it's likely that you cycle a fair bit and are reasonably confident in traffic, as such you're not really the target for a lot of these schemes.

Amen.
Although it does make it more pleasant for those already cycling...

What's the deal with the N-S highway from E&C to KGX? How much of it will be ready for me to use when I go to catch my train back to Newcastle for Christmas?

Segregated to the Holborn Viaduct and stops. There's a pleasant, quiet route through the back streets a bit further up the road.
