  • I'm in the process, currently serving compulsory military service here in Austria so not much energy/time for the bikes. And it is f****g cold in the garage as well.
Nakamura will be done start of Jan 2017 I think :)

  • whistles

    I love a big slick!

  • @MisterMikkel, I am a big fan as well :)

Stuff is moving forward, disk brakes were proving very tricky to align due to the "eye-balled" weld job on the IS mounts (will see if there is a shop around that can face them). Some cutting, grinding and bodging with washers and I am almost there. Rear hose will need shortening which is fine, because it seems there is some air in the system.

  • Well nice, I did something similar for my GF, no disc brakes tough.

  • love it, great work.

  • thanks guys, I haven't done much since... just got the olive and barb for shortening the hoses today, so it's just that and mudguards and it should be done. here is how i finally managed to get the back caliper in position - it is actually a front adapter upside down with round washers for easier aligning/ correct height ;)

  • yesterday I put some pedals and took it for a run, all works good!

  • I never updated this, still missing a rack.

  • My knee is still fu'ked up, so not much biking going on. I managed to visit the garage after a long time and see how (L)Olmo looks on borrowed wheels. It seems like the conversion turned out good, didn't (over)slacken the angles, nice clearances (pictured with 37c tires) and good fit (58x55.5).

I scored some SL500 Sram bar end shifters locally and have an XT HTII crankset going spare. Chinese NW on the front, X9 with long cage (planing to start with 44T on the front and 11-36 cassette, upgrade with a 42T cog if necessary) and RL520 levers to some Chinese copy of MTB BB7 - what could absolutely go wrong!? I will probably go for 40c G-one on the front and 35c on the back. I get nervous from just looking at those carbon forks...

  • Really smart. That's going to be awesome to ride. What bars will you be putting on?

  • Could you share the links on the carbon forks mate?

  • something cheap and compact, probably from cnc, where I am getting the rest of the order. Got my eyes on https://www.cnc-bike.de/product_pix/zoom_race_1.jpg

@daveaa Seems like it's not available any more, it's a Tideace fork from aliexpress, but I bought it one and a half year ago..

  • some progress, tomorrow evening hopefully more. anyone knows if ITA HTII BB uses the same spacers as BSA?

  • The new ITA threaded HTII BB units don't come with any spacers. cups go straight on to the chased BB Shell. No spacers on the crank spindle either, just like a standard BSA setup.
YMMV, but that's how my parts came, and how my LBS installed it for me.

  • Just saw your answer, the problem is I am using a MTB crank so some spacers were due. 1 on DS and 2 on NDS + chainring on the middle position for a 48/49mm chainline, looks very decent with a lot of heel clearance. I just filed the plastic spacers to fit them on the ITA BB and cut the steerer short in my LBS.

Had some problems with seating the KMC snap link, but managed it in the end. I am missing an adapter for the rear break and a looooong piece of derailleur outer, but almost there. Just to sort out my knee then...

  • Random update on Koga. My knee is getting better, I am trying to follow through with an eccentric squats on a incline board routine... albeit not much riding and even 10-12 km rides leave a sour knee. I am gonna need a serious internet bike fit soon.

Need some advice here on the aesthetic part regarding the bars. Updated the front part to Hylix and a quite nice CNC 1" stem (- the ugly graphics). Good bye shims and 31.8 bars!

Here some random bars from the part box. Ultimately I would like a Nitto finishing kit (brazed stem and m186 bars) and a metallic green or candy red paint job (c-track) with golden decals, but $$$.

Pro bars, comfiest but not very nice...

random bars, don't look bad but reach is loooong

nitto, could look nice, but put levers in a very ackward angle

I also got a very cheap used smp dynamic with inox rails...

  • Love those full pro frames.
