  • First roll through my Grandad's Leica iiif. Fuji Superia 400. Honestly pretty blown away by this 60 year old camera.

  • And some Mamiya RB67 and Portra 160.

  • Yea, I wish I had read all that before shooting (and then giving away) mine.
    : ]

  • Man, I really like the colors of the Portra

  • Also on the subject of MF rangefinders - there's a Plaubel Makina W67 in great condition ending tonight that's probably going for a great price - if anyone's got the dough..

  • All really nice.

Love the metal amongst the trees.

  • Re-edited that one.
Anyone else seeing fireworks / an explosion?

Resolution for 2017: do more film soup shenanigans.
Kinda sad this won't work with 120 film as it will fuck up the paper backing I guess, haha!

  • Wooowwww! Those colours. Love it

  • Cool! I'll set up a saved search and whatnot. Might make this a higher priority than planned, last couple of rolls through the camera have been very streaky.

These three are from the latest one. Thought it looked like chemical streaks but I used a different lab each time and they're in similar places. Most visible through the left half of the frame on that third photo.

(Not sure how I managed to fuck the focus on this one!?)

  • This is properly lush

  • ^ Awesome colours!

  • Cheers,
Pretty amazing for a 60 year old Leica that's been sitting in a cupboard for god knows how long (very fortunately in a plastic bag with some silica gel).

I really want to scan the negs properly myself - the low res ones I got are a bit pap. Can't wait to see how it fairs with some Portra 400 in it.

    Have some RB67, t-max 400 action:

  • Wow, these are nice..

  • diy redscale film

..just remembered this is on my 'to do list' -
with "diy" you mean you used normal film, spooled back into the canister backwards?
Have no access to a darkroom, but heard it's doable in a changing bag as well..
..seems like quite a faff though - any experience?

  • It's straightforward in a changing bag. I think I used a tape dispenser so I could stick the reversed film back onto the tongue of film sticking out as it is a bit less faff.

I took this with some Agfa vista 200 @ EI 100 on my Olympus XA2

  • Anyone had any experience of whatevergraphy.com ?

They seem to be listing Kodak 250D movie stock respooled onto a 35mm cartridge for £2.37 a roll and the thing I'm most interested in is their version of Cinestill 800/Kodak 500T in medium format which is here:

    http://www.whatevergraphy.com/products/kodak-500t-imax-for-120

  • Kodak should setup a special emulsions division and do seasonal batch production of all these weird re-purposed films.

    They read this thread right?

  • Only if they sell it at £2.40 a roll!

  • Needs the remjet washed off tho. I really want to shoot some motion picture stock, but removing remjet is problematic at best!

  • I removed remjet for the first time the other day and the hardest part was explaining to my wife what the black stuff all over the bath was.

If you don't processes yourself and needed to remove it then respool to take it to be processed I imagine it would be more frustrating tho.

  • ..thanks for the feedback!

  • How difficult was it? Done in pitch black I assume?
    What was the film?
    Worth it?
    Questions galore!

  • It says on the site: "For the first time, motion picture cinema film is now available for standard 120 medium still photography and processing!" which I'd taken to mean they'd already removed the remjet? Will drop them an email and ask.
