Spent a couple of hours after work this evening converting mine, just need a longer stem (120-130mm 25.4mm preferably black Thomson/ritchey/syncros/salsa if anyone has) and a pizza rack.
Rides like a new bike, shifting is Incomparable, so much improved, and brakes are liveable (kept the stock promax with some avid V levers). Photos to follow.

I'm using a 140mm Ritchey in 25.4. It was a chain reaction bargain a couple years ago. Worth having a look online as it was £5 or something silly. Salsa would be nice though.
What bars did you go for?

Some off a Gazelle with a slight sweep/rise.
Just got a 120mm Ritchey off eBay for £10.99 will do the trick.

Of all the anti going on here, it mostly bothers me that they didn't just put lower rails on the rear rack so you could actually carry things on it.

It's bloody frustrating that tyre manufacturers are not consistent with tyre sizes . I've just swapped out some 700x35 Marathons to a nice set of folding Soma tan walls in 35c but......the clearance now on the chainstays could be described as fag paper clearance! Ffs!
This bike is perfection, the fork sweep, the fitting of the mudguards...
Any idea what rack it is?
