I'm afraid I'm not a big fan of the current set-up :/ Personally, I'd change the cockpit for a level stem and compact bars, change the wheels to handbuilts, de-sticker the crank set (is that even possible?). For some reason the two colours of the bottle cages and the cables don't really work well together imho. Sorry for the harsh critique, I'm sure it rides like a dream and it's your bike so your satisfaction is all that counts...

There is no tape because the cockpit is gonna change with a nitto 'regular' stem and compact bars.
In the picture the acid green cables look more yellow. In reality they still work well. And yes, I think silver cages would work better now that these green ones. But oh well :)Also the wheels are staying. And the stickers as well, I hate removing them.
And no need to be sorry for the critique ! That's what this is for.

So what do you guys think now with the new cockpit?

I think the drops are ever so slightly tilted downwards.

Still calibrating a bit. Will have to ride it more and find the right position. But yeah, usually I tilt them a bit more up

Awesome looking SocietàMeccanica bike :D
what are the drops? I'm working on a Chesini and looking to install some 26,0 mm compact bars.
Thanks a lot. -

Thanks!
the bars are the Velo Orange Dajia compact bars, thanks to @Engineering101 !

Glad that they worked out in the end! Looks great. Know what you mean about stickers on the rims... I'd be of two minds myself!

I'm on one :) I'd never remove them :)

Bloody Lovely. I assume you you won't be commuting on those wheels? (although I probably would)
-
• #115
I would
-
• #116
They are tubulars. So no I wouldn't (I will)
I did commute on a pair of Shamals, so...
-
• #117
:) I’m sure there’s a thread somewhere discussing that! I’ll often be on the Pave tubs come winter, but it’s a niche choice I’ll grant you.

I'll fill them up with sealant :)

Re building with Chorus 7 speed groupset. Anyone got a pair of pedals?

Don’t have any Campags, but I do have MKS Sylvan roads (aka the modern Japanese copy) going.
-
• #121
Mmm pics? They look very different
-
• #122
Thought they were styled on Campag classic pedals, but I don’t know if they match the ones that were released with the 7sp set, apologies if not!
-
• #123
Yeah, no they are like these. The Aero ones (and the only ones I've seen in the catalogues of those years for Chorus)
-
• #124
Very, very nice... I can imagine that they won't be cheap :)
-
• #125
In that case, I'll find other pedals :)
It will thanks!
As an update, here is the bike with both the wheels @inkleined
