Captivity isn't fair on them as they are our nearest relatives and you'd need a big one with a lot of room and ropes to swing on and stuff.

• #80903
Yeah,
maybe start off with something a bit smaller, a marmosetery? -

You'll either love or you'll hate it.

I'm after some 3mm thick aluminium sheet to make a bash guard for my motorbike.
I haven't mesured up properly yet, but I need about 300mm x 600mm.
Is £25 the standard sort of price ?
http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/151074960672?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368
Or are there cheaper ways / places to source?
Cheers.

It's not far off, the industrial scale suppliers are cheaper but often have high shipping charges which makes the total the same if you're only buying a small amount.
600×300×3mm 1050 is £23.56 shipped from http://www.aluminiumwarehouse.co.uk/sheet_calc.php and 5251 is only a few pence more.

Serious beesniss.
Am enquiring about beekeeping courses instead, think that might be a safer approach. Bees are, after all, not just for Christmas. -

Thanks.
They look especially good as I could order it to exactly the right spec to cut down on... cutting.
Next question is what type of drill bit would be best to drill big round holes?
-
• #80909
If you only want one size and fairly large, i.e. 15 mm plus . A hole saw is probably your best bet, a selection here at screwfix.
http://www.screwfix.com/p/starrett-20mm-holesaw/95906
These also work but I am not really a fan, depends what you need positional and size accuracy wise. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Q-Max-Sheet-Metal-Punch-QMA20M/dp/B0055KJGW8
Preferred for one off holes. -

A hole saw is probably your best bet
↑This, ish. Drilling sheet that's less thick than half the drill diameter with a twist drill is pretty hard to get right even on a proper drill press. A hole saw will at least mean you're not involved in a wrestling match, although a drill press would still be a good idea.
Some screw hole punches (e.g. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Screw-Hole-punch-Hole-punch-Hole-Puncher-Puncher-RUKO-12-7-63-5mm-ALL-SIZES-/401059296943) will handle 3mm aluminium and will make neater holes than a hole saw, particularly if the hole saw in question is on the end of a hand held drill. The pilot hole can be as wonky as you like, as long as the screw goes through the punch will align flat to the material.
This style of deburrer is easy to use
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Neilsen-HSS-Taper-Deburring-Tool-Reamer-Pipes-10mm-34mm-Pipe-Steel-Copper-14B-/370978352112But you can deburr the holes perfectly well with a Noga with a bit of practice

Is it possible to fit flat mount disc brake calipers (Shimano RS805) to a frame and fork designed for post mount?
Found adapters for post mount calipers to flat mount but not the other way around, run them backwards!?

No, because the posts are in the way of where the caliper needs to be.

Does anyone know where I can pick up some 26 x 1 3/8 gumwalls before Monday evening? Preferably somewhere between Tottenham Hale and Brixton.

Too bad, I've a bunch of new col de la vies sitting in my basement, but way too far from you.
-
• #80916
Did he share it?
-
• #80917
I've been waiting to do that one for years.
-
• #80918
That's what I assumed, thanks.
Will a shimano/hope mtb hydraulic caliper work with the road levers or would I have to go for the specific road type?
-
• #80919
Sadly that play on words will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

• #80920
Damn. Thanks anyway
-
• #80921
@svendhöek did it on his Franken-Dolan!

Dunno. Piston area is the key variable, you'd need to know how big the pistons are in the various calipers. Compatibility of the seals with the brake fluid is the other stumbling block if you mix Shimano levers with other people's calipers.

So my royal mail tracking says:
A delivery was attempted for your item with reference XXXXXXXX in WEST PDO before 09:08 on 15/12/16.
If the addressee does not collect it or make an arrangement to have it redelivered, it will be returned to the sender in the UK.But haven't got a note that they generally leave back, what should I do in such circumstance?
-
• #80924
Go to the sorting office with proof of ID, address and a note of the tracking number.
And at this time of year, a good book to read in the queue.

Fair enough, what is WEST PDO? Google is failing me.

Does anyone know what the threading pitch/size is on a sram xd freehub body or have a link to specs/patent?
(Im considering sawing one in half for a custom singlespeed hub and it looks like the threading could be used for a lockring of some sort.)
edit: Found it! m32x1.0 threading
SRAM has a whole site for it -> http://www.xddriverbody.com/90-2415-181-000_C7_RELEASED.pdf
