Ah man, I should have checked in sooner. What did I miss?
Probably in the market for another saddle bag if anyone's selling.

After about 7 years of ups and downs (mostly downs) Black Rainbow Project is closing it's doors.
Changes in my personal circumstances meant a change of location for me, and due to my financial position, a change of job.
I now find myself without a workshop, and without the means to rent one here in London again, so everything is going into storage for the foreseeable future.
This will be the first time in about 12 years I'll have been without a workshop, which is very hard for me as I love creating things... But the reality is, I'm a terrible businessman. I'm not the least bit money driven, and I don't like to compromise my designs to meet price points and market trends etc
There's only so long you can expect people to wait for things, and it's unfair to expect them to do so simply because of your own problems and fuck ups.
I miss making bags more than people can understand... And not having the ability to create is a bad thing for me mentally... But the reality is, at the moment I can't afford to have a bag 'business'.
I know I'll be back making bags again at some point, as I'm full of ideas, but unless I suddenly come into a substantial amount of money, it's going to have to wait.I truly appreciate the support I've received from everyone over the years, especially on this forum, and from the messenger community... And hopefully I'll be back at some point in the future, and get it right this time. :)
In the words of Buggin' out... "Stay black"

I salute a true craftsman. I'll cherish my indigo for as long as it lasts, which is probably longer than I will.

That is sad news. I am very proud of my BRP Red. Shame you won't be making any more for a while.

Glad to here that the machines are not being sold and obviously the talent and imagination is still there.
I am in no doubt that you will return even better brimming with new energy and ideas.
I'm the meanwhile have fun and enjoy life, you are lucky to have found something in life that is a real passion.
Peace. Ww
When you return I might have finally saved up for the messenger bag. -

My little say in all this is that your products are off the scale. I've got a pile of your inventions namely the messenger bag, keychain and hip pouch. Over the years I've owned many other bags and bits and literally none have been as good as yours.
From material choice to design and longevity there's no comparison. I have, and still will, wait years for other things you may come up with. Life is never easy but stick in there and I know you'll have lots of people who'll be there to support you throughout. Take care and look after yourself, if you push through you'll get where you want to be in the end. T -

Sorry to hear this Scott! Are you moving out of london again? It's been so long since if seen you.
Wish you lots of luck and fortune in the new year!

I'm guessing no one has a hip pouch they'd be willing to part with? No, didn't think so, I wouldn't either, but figured I'd ask.

sad to hear you closing doors, but I hope you will some day get back to doing more great products! -
• #1496

-
• #1497
Thanks for all the support and kind words everyone... It means a lot.
I'll be back at some point... Too many ideas still to give up... But at the moment other things need to take priority.@Yasi ..... Definitely not moving out of London. I'm in Camden, and have no plans to move just yet, so message me if you're ever around. :)

Sad news but hopefully everything else is good in life.
Proud owner of a Archies Rosie and tool roll. Always wanted a chocolate donkey style handlebar harness, would rather wait a few more years til you're up and running again than buy one of the northern knock-offs.
Hope you get the chance to make wonderful things again soon.

Must be about 5-6 years apart? Left one was made in around 2011 - 2012 and the right one was made in 2017!
Just putting it out there so you can be jealous that I have the last BRP messenger bag! Hopefully not ever though.
Cheers Scott! :-D
