Originally ordered a set of Pacenti TL28 from PX but they couldn't find them in the stock room so they've given me a pair of WTB ST i25 for the same price which is nice as its a tenner saving on their price and literally half the price of CRC

Winning. When are you planning on getting them built? Looking forward to seeing the Genesis updated.

I was a bit sceptical that black rims would look odd with silver stuff but this convinced me:

^ that's spot on, totally agree.

You need to get rid of some of the silver shit on your bike mate. Black rims will look super steez..

I have some of these in my sights:

They are more expensive than the frame...
Edit: how about some nice silver shimano square taper cranks and black chainring instead?

not second hand...

Silver and black is all right!
Personally, I prefer silver hubs and spokes with black rims.

Do you know what front rack that is? Can't make out what it says, 'punyan'?
-
• #841
Top rack is Haulin' Colin. Sticker is Bunyan Velo. Photo source is probably in here somewhere: https://www.flickr.com/photos/phofos

Got my Superstar Components wheels today. They seem super nice for the money.
I ordered with steel freehub, for touring durability, but they where out of stock until December, so they sent it with an alu one and will ship the steel one when they restock it. Super service and nice with a lightweight extra freehub. Can't wait for my tyres to arrive... Tomorrow hopefully...

TBH, the alu freehubs will be fine, as long you use those cassette that have an alu sprocket carrier, put copper slip on the spindle and torque the cassette on (if not tighten properly, result in the sprocket moving back and forth, digging in).
I have used it on touring too, it's also fine.

I run cheap cheap 10sp cassettes. Steel against steel.

Then just put copper slip on the spindle and torqued the lockring, it'll be fine.

In any case I'll let the alu one stay on and use it until it dies and replace with a brand new steel one. Which is a nice option to have

Or just use it several time till it die, I reckon you're making a mountain out of a molehill.
I ordered a pair of Superstar Comp Stans wheels and a pair of Vittoria Peyote TNT 2.1". I am so excited about trying it out.
In spring I will try out some WTB Horizons and mudguards.
Thanks for recommendations guys...
