  • ITM bar end brakes are snapping cables on the end, when under stress.

If this is happening regularly to new cables, I'd look for another cause than weak cables: burrs, routing, clamping etc, depending upon which end is effected.

  • It's popping the bulb off at the brake handle. I had the brakes on a different setup and it happened, swapped for Tektro and no further issues.

Friend is using these, happens sometimes, usually front brake first, under emergency stop stress. Two different bar/housing setups, plus mine is three.

    Aesthetics over function, currently.

  • It does sound as if it's the levers that are the problem (whether that's a design or manufacturing fault): are you routing the cable through the extensions, or underneath them?

A friend has a pair of levers going spare (OE of a 2014 Felt B12): I'll check, but I'd say £10 + postage.
