  • Deffo a good excuse for a new bike.

  • Also, is this that spectra flair paint Matts been using? Wasn't keen on it on that fixeh bike that Matt built, but it looks much nicer in these photos.

  • Yes, this is the same stuff- very dependent on the light/getting the photo to show how it looks in the light.

  • What handlebar are these? About to purchase some Ritchey neo classic but am I right to think these are kinda similar but also have the drops bent outwards like randonneur?

    Lovely boike moaite!

  • They are 3T Rotundo - not flared I'm afraid.

  • Ta!

  • Drop pressure until it stop slipping easily.

  • This is a really nice looking bike. Like a modernised Swiss Cross. Also, have to say that it looks like a production bike, not a bespoke one. That's not a negative at all. Glad it rides well too.

Now I want one. Although probably more fast road/gravel geo...

  • Has Ed recommended lower pressure yet?

  • this is one damn beautiful bike!

  • I've been experimenting with using bike packing kit rather than rucksacks and/or panniers, so far it's been a success. I'm also extremely interested in doing some light touring that might take in the road less travelled, so my cross bike has been playing dressing up.

  • plan to just use a bivvy/B&Bs? or can those apiduras somehow magically carry a tent?

  • B&B I think, although bivvy+tarp is also an option. We'll see - I like the idea of staying on the Downs if doing the South Downs Way over two days, but in other circumstances I would favour having a shower in the morning.

  • I do like the Chromaflair paint.

  • You can get a tent that'll fit, as well as a inflatable mattress and sleeping bag.

You don't need to be completely uncomfortable, a tent pole can be mounted on the top tube between the frame bag and top tube, allowing the tent to be compressed a lots more.

  • I have no cages on this bike (because race bike), so one of the frame bags that use the whole space would fit - I wonder if a small tent would fit into that area?

  • Of course it would.

  • What rear hub is that?

  • Powertap.

  • Have you still got Time-machine, in addition to this and Project 76? If you decide to sell the former, please give me a shout.

  • Yes I do, it needs a thorough service which I was going to do this week. I have been toying with the idea of selling it. Let me have a think about it.

  • That the new top secret fork?!?

  • Nah, this is a Spork - ordered from Rodeo Labs in Colorado - which is suited to a CX a-c, ours is a Gnarmac a-c, so wouldn't work for my cross bike.
