Think i'm going for Kinesis Crosslight V4 anyone have these?
-
• #7178
I do. They're alright. No issues so far.

I have the V3 and they are boombproof. Also have a pair of Cosine and they are good too.

Who here has Light Bicycle rims? What is your opinion of them? Do you run them tubeless?
-

I've got a 55mm set of u-shape crabon from them. Dave at LMNH said these crabon was some of the nicest rims he built.
So far using them on normal clinchers and not tubeless. But they run really smooth and with the wide rims and 35mm tyres it's so comfortable and fast on my everyday commute.

Also got the 55mm U shaped but running as clincher setup, so easy to build.

Thanks for the feedback - are you chaps braking on the rim or on a rotor?

Rim brake with Wiggle carbon pads

Grazie. Looks like $1,140 built onto DT Swiss 240s by them, or $498 just for rims, that looks like better value is obtained by ordering rims alone?

tubeless, carbon rim brake, descending Alps .. safe? srs question
-
• #7189
Proper tubeless should be safer than either tubes or tubs.

whats proper and whats not?

whats proper
UST certified is proper. Not sure that there are any certified carbon rims with brake tracks.

I'd not do it, would run tubs if rim brake, just interested.
Currently thinking about making the Time Machine a 650b wheelset, which is what this is about.

3 pairs, one road, two MTB. They're great. I run the MTB rims tubeless but not the road ones. The road rims are quite old and rather predate the era of tubeless road rims.

I asked this in the wheel building thread and the consensus of about 3 posters was they're good. I think some of those posters were the kind of people I might piss on if they were on fire so they're probably good.
I'm still undecided. FLO are maybe twice the price but still cheaper than ENVE by £600 and have some aero pedigree. You wanna save postage and buy some at once?
EDIT: Was probably @danstuff and @dubtap I've just suggested I would piss on. :)
Only if they were on fire, mind.

I've got two pairs of ENVE wheels with the XC 29er rims, I like them a LOT, but I'm not in love with the price. If Light Bicycle rims are roughly analogous but for ~20% of the cost I'm likely to own a lot of them quite soon.
That said, I do really rate the Flo wheels I've had in the past.
Flo would be tubeless and rim brakes though...

I was going to go for the LBs based only on price but I like that FLO have actual test data on their rims so I'm now edging towards their product for the extra $200 odd. I'll only bother with a front for now.

I need at least one set of LB as Flo don't do 650b. Those are also the priority, so I'll likely order those shortly.

I have some new 38mm Compass tyres that very likely to fit the clearance of the Time Machine.

I said I wouldn't do it, I'd happily support you doing it - can you give your wife your login so we get a report either way?
I'd buy another pair of these
