For me, I'm willing to review everything. I had a lucky escape from a potentially far more severe outcome. Nothing can guarantee there won't be a next time, and now I've had a reminder of mortality and fragility I'll definitely take some precautions, mitigations as appropriate.
Why a helmet now and seldom before? I'd never really considered that a driver would hit a cyclist on purpose. I figured my safety was in my control. A failure of imagination on my part.

so, after the boss gets knocked off deliberately by a car driver, and hurts everything bar his head we are talking about highly specified bits of polystyrene for our heads. And you still eschew cycle training?
