  • Also gotta say I'm Pretty impressed with how light the frame is. I don't think the total weight of this bike will be far off my Dalsnibba (when it has the CK/Belgium wheels on, not the enves) , even with disc brakes. The skinny T45 wishbone that Matt does now deffo offers a considerable weight saving over the cast type that's on my Dalsnibba. I know the aesthetics aren't to everyone's taste though.

Put all the bits I've got together loosely yesterday as I was so excited when the frame turned up. Happy that the mudguards are pretty low key, as thats was one of my main aims with this.

Really hoping to have this together to ride over the Christmas break on the few days I have off!

  • Toight as toight toiger.

Would ride as is. Initially thought colour palette was a little dark even though big fan, but you've executed this perfectly. This will look mental in the sun.

  • Yeah, the green looks really dull and almost black under artificial light. It's very metallic tho, so will be completely different in the sun. Excited to see what it looks like in the daylight myself! My paintwork is mostly a very nocturnal past time tho, so I never really see what most projects look like in the sunlight til they're finished!

I think this is the simplest paint scheme I've ever done too, so getting a strong main colour is key I think. I've also never done a 'theme' before (unless you count the 90's Genesis I recently did)... Hope it all comes together as planned! Was thinking about doing some crossed red stripes on the back end of the mudguard that loosely mimic the VW logo, but think that might push it over the edge.

It's a lot more green than it looks in my photos...
