once you worn out your Open Pro
Unless I crash again, that's not happening soon, only once in my life I had to replace a rim... I don't ride as many miles as most people here and it's split between several bikes.
So I checked and I had dropped pressure at 55 psi, which is the minimum required for this tyres.
Now up at 70, will see how it goes...
Anyway, to the point, seems that slippery issue has nothing to do with tyres then... I don't remember the schwable road cruisers 35c I first had on that bike being problematic on that matter, and their max inflation was lower than the clement... confirms pressure is likely to be the reason...
I dropped the pressure as a test today.
No problem with cornering (as I knew already)... I know the thing you describe, feeling like the rim offsets itself from the tire's contact point on the road, under lateral pressure... I don't have this problem. It feels stable... It's just I feel I need to push harder than when inflated up to tyre's max allowance, which it what I'm used to do on my bikes in general. Maybe I'm not meant to have big tyres, which is annoying these 35c are bang on with the bike's proportion, from a superfluous aesthetics point of view...
