Those brake bridges are usually on low end 27" semi-race or tourer bikes you can find for really really dirt cheap.

Agreed, I went for ahead as tiny quill steps always look awful imo, and with such a long top tube, I needed a 0deg 70mm stem.
As for the Cranks, I'm always loath to not use original parts, and they are still usable.
