  • Audax UK membership and a bivvy bag.

OS maps and friends with encyclopaedic knowledge of local bridleways (and chip shops) too.

Dynamo lights too, but they're a bit pricey.

I pretty much regret every other bike-related/specific purchase I've made in the last couple of years.

  • Pompino with 35c tyres.

So great to have a bike you can take off road a bit, hop off curbs, don't care about locking up and generally replicate what it was like to have a bike when you were 12.

  • Gloves.

  • Dynamo lights and mudguards, doubt I would have cycled half as much this year without them......also disc brakes on the commuter bike.

  • Sealskinz gloves.

My sample sale Rapha Paul Smith city jacket (RIP)

    Crabon SMP copy

Rapha merino beanie for winter (sale of course)

    SKS longboard mudguards

23mm rims with 25c tyres/low psi. So much comfier than 23c at 110 psi.

Assos chamois cream. Stings your arsehole sometimes but saves your gooch from infected follicles.

This jumper, I think it might be made with black magic. I've worn it practically every day this autumn, even when it went down below 0 while cycling home at night, never not been comfortably warm. Little bit pricy, but it's practically bullet proof, and amazing to wear.

  • I sometimes wonder if I couldn't have made a fortune in marketing.
