surely the bearings they use are a standard size? maybe the compression ring could be less tall?
There are different height bearings from different brands, even the ones who get their cartridges from TH Industries, they make 45°×45° cartridges in heights ranging from 6.5mm to 8mm, but 7.5mm seems to be the lowest in a 41.8mm OD.
Haha yeah, if I remember correctly it was all you had left, truth of the story is I never really rode this frame and when I did I had the stock cover on because I didn't want to ride with my bearings all loose and dangling. I'm gonna start using it again and thought it'd be nice to pick up a more well dimensioned cover because stock covers are purile.
I'll get back with what depth it'll be, measure it again, do some thinking.
I was wondering whether getting a different branded headset might bring it down some, it's a campy hiddenset head tube with a token headset, surely the bearings they use are a standard size? maybe the compression ring could be less tall?
