In terms of size, how many cubic foot approximately needs to be? Eventually, can you give out the cubes of the hosting room with the preferred ratio for a better picture?

You want arguments, down the hall on the left.

we should start a list.
when I was looking for one, options suggested were:
Iberital - £140ish new:
http://www.happydonkey.co.uk/hd0866-iberital-mc2-auto.html
Rancilio - £240ish new:
Heston's thing - £200
or the ubiquitous Mazzer Mini - 2nd hand on eBay; typically £250ish
in the end I decided I wanted the Mazzer but now was not a good time to shell out £250 on a coffee grinder. So a friendly forumite sorted me out with a Krups for £15 all told - MVP has been achieved.

Ha, that pretty much matches what I suggested.
"Mini Mazzer good, expensive, probably too big (Gaggia MDF or an Iberital MC2 other two options)
Rancilio Rocky - decent but possibly too big
Coffee thread suggestion: https://www.coffeehit.co.uk/baratza-encore.html
If you're only grinding a couple of bags you could probably get away with a cheap little burr grinder.
I've bought from these guys before... they have a range but mostly spendy commercial options.

I bought one of the Terrone filters for my AeroPress as recommended on here.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but it just seems to let the water pour right through and leaves weak, watery coffee rather than brewing in the AeroPress.
Is this something to do with how finely I'm grinding the beans, or how much coffee I'm putting in, or is it just a bit shit?

Use the inverted method?

Numbers had faded on the AP so I did a shoddy spray paint joy to know what height to go to, only problem is the paint is starting to chip, any suggestions of what to paint over it with? Someone said clear coat but I don't need 500ml...

did you get one? I like my eureka migion does the job. Bit messy but less so now. It'll still be doing it in 10 years time too I bet.
Think I paid quite a bit less than this though. http://www.myespresso.co.uk/product/eureka-mignon-mk2-on-demand-grinder-with-timer-gloss-black-free-1kg-beans/

it's nice but pricy but I love my baratza/malkohnig vario. hasbean seems to not love them for espresso though.

It wasn't for me, I have Big Red Bastard commercial grinder. I'll pass on the tip. Ta

does anyone use a BWT bestmax filtration system - if so, how easy is it to install?
-
• #12190
Yeah, it's a doddle.
They do many different cartridges though, what's your water like?
-
• #12191
we are moving to Gloucestershire, water is harder than a hard thing, limescale falls out of taps
am thinking go for the premium cartridge, just trying to work out what size - probably xl

often a good idea to look on the uk coffee forums site, a bit like here it is a small community and people tend to be reliable.
also as coffee machinery is not locked up outdoors there is not a big stolen equipment market

Worked in a coffee shop in Bath and we had to have everything cleaned and descaled every month, pretty much.

My Rancilio Silvia has started tripping the circuit breaker as it heats up. Not every time, but half at least.
It's under a year old.Sadly I bought it from myespresso, so I guess warranty won't be super smooth! Doh.
Edit: Just occurred to me it only does it in the morning, I wonder if there is moisture on the element causing it. Will investigate that.

First trip to Idle Hands here in mcr. Good range of SO filter options, and some lovely wall art.

Base it on how often you use the machine, flow rate is important, we only use an XL at the shop.
The premium will add more Mg the longer it sits dormant, and the bigger the cartridge, the bigger the exchange medium, the more Mg it can exchange.

So Art. Many aesthetic.
-
• #12198
We probably use 3-5l of water through our machine each day. From most accounts the extra magnesium of the premium filter will improve flavour in both coffee and tea.
-
• #12199
That's not a lot, go for a smaller filter and change it more often.

cool
These are meant to be decent for the money. https://www.coffeehit.co.uk/baratza-encore.html
