What would my Comete +/- rear 700c disc be worth I wonder?
It is an early Comete (1987) and comes with the correct, original Mavic track adaptor and track axle which were fitted relatively recently and were brand new prior to fitting as the wheel had only ever been used on road before then
It's in very very good condition with no damageThe freewheel threads are French but it comes with a French threaded Sachs freewheel and the original road axle also
Eight of the twelve removable weights onlyCollector value only perhaps and not practical for street use and too old/obsolete for track use?
Thanks

What does it mean that you are short four weights?
-
• #431
Under the yellow stickers are weights, they allow you to change the wheel weight. I assume this was to benefit training and tt vs track use?

I think I know the answer to this but thought I would ask anyway, just in case there is a way!
I picked up a nice 9 speed (cassette) Ghibli at the weekend, is it possible to convert it to track? I assume the hub is not compatible with a Surley Fixer (which is only for Shimano as far as I know).
If it cannot be converted then I will probably stick it on my Argos for the odd club '10'.

These should be on their way to me from the eastern edges of the EU very soon, price was quite okay considering they aren't great cosmetically. Hopefully ride okay, composite and heavy so should be fine for popping to the shops.
Threading is for a freewheel, in two minds whether to convert with that adapter off ebay.

Anyone interested in a slightly dodgy but usable Kevlar Russian disc? Has a bb lock ring loctited on, 17t cog, and weird spinning hub which is solved by having a cog on each side. I've riden it brakeless and the cog is on solid, but obviously ride it at your own risk. Needs a new tub as I skidded through the current one, though it does still hold air. Looking to sell cheap.

Not off hand, hoping to grab them soon

Be liking at £400/£500 all day long looking at the condition or I'll take it off you. As many old discs it's only worth as much ss someone is willing to pay

You can't need all 5 I'll take one off your hands

Spinning hub?

• #443
Hard to explain, threaded section could be moved across. Seller said it had something to do with tensioning the kevlar but can't confirm. I solved it by having a cog on both sides to clamp it together.

not materialised yet

Sounds a bit like it should be bonded to the skin.

Perhaps, there were lockring type notches on the threaded section which suggest it might be intensional however I have no clue. Sold now anyway!

Back from Poland, huge well packed delivery waiting for me.
The discs are Ambrosio, painted over to hide the damage (mostly cosmetic by feel).
Front wheel crack along contour but below rim. Seems just the outer cover. Any ideas about repair?
Not sure I want to strip paint and see how bad they are under.

Can you get a pic? The loads on a disc are spread over quite a wide area, so an individual point can get away with a fairly basic repair with no major loss of strength.
Anyone got/know of/seen any 24" discs or spoked wheels let me know please :)
