  • Yeah that was a big factor in me buying it, i love smoked paint. Also it was under £90 with the full original spec. Hopefully it'll clean up nicely.

    Plan is to spend as little as possible and use my parts bin, to do list will be:

    • full clean and re-grease the headset
    • replace canti's for v brakes
    • Low riders and rack/basket
    • replace saddle
    • replace pedals (flats or SPD havent decided yet)
    • sweepy bars with better grips
    • sealed bb

    and optionally

    • 1x (depending on ratios and if my spare narrow wide fits)
    • new rear wheel and swap out gears for a SLX long cage with trigger shifter 10 speed.
    • New tyres; possibly Halo h-block, possibly twin rails, see what I can pinch.
  • Sounding good. Great thing with these retro mtbs being so cheap you're sure not to resent it and can guarantee it'll be put through its paces. Making me wish I still had my M-Trax.
