Yeah that was a big factor in me buying it, i love smoked paint. Also it was under £90 with the full original spec. Hopefully it'll clean up nicely.
Plan is to spend as little as possible and use my parts bin, to do list will be:
- full clean and re-grease the headset
- replace canti's for v brakes
- Low riders and rack/basket
- replace saddle
- replace pedals (flats or SPD havent decided yet)
- sweepy bars with better grips
- sealed bb
and optionally
- 1x (depending on ratios and if my spare narrow wide fits)
- new rear wheel and swap out gears for a SLX long cage with trigger shifter 10 speed.
- New tyres; possibly Halo h-block, possibly twin rails, see what I can pinch.
- full clean and re-grease the headset

Sounding good. Great thing with these retro mtbs being so cheap you're sure not to resent it and can guarantee it'll be put through its paces. Making me wish I still had my M-Trax.
Looks cheeky, loving the paint.
