I'd love a Silver Special, a friend loaned me this beauty for a fortnight in San Fran.
Lammys have a lot of parts and they tend to shake themselves loose, 'panel rash' is a common sight where one doesn't attach properly and goes for a slide down the road. Another draw back is the vibrations compared to the monocoque Vespa design. They look better though :/

The Lambretta looks much more friendly to keep in running order. The one hing I'm finding with the Vespa is that bodywork gets tatty and it's hard to do much about it because it's all forms part of the chassis. On the Lambretta you could whip panels off and prepare/paint them off the bike.
I don't have anywhere warm to work on mine so it's proving hard to keep it in decent order. Needs lots doing to it...
