I've somehow properly wedged a carbon steerer plug in my steerer. I've loosened the bolt right off and knocked it down but still no dice.

My plan is to leave the expanding steerer plug bolt loose, fit a stem and some spacers above and tighten the headset preload bolt until the plug is pulled out. Would this work? Would I be likely to damage anything?

What was the brand name of the small but very bright lights than Planet-X used to sell? US made I think, very simple design and they had external battery packs and ran on 4 x AA batteries.
