If you have no idea of the age whatsoever you can narrow down whether it's pre 2005 or not by measuring the wheelbase.
If you fully unfold the bike and measure between the front and rear wheelnuts you should get either 1045mm or 1015mm.
If it's the latter you're looking at a 2004 (or earlier frame), otherwise you can safely assume it's 2005 or later.
