It's the 13inch, 2.9 GHz, 8 GB RAM version.
It wasn't planed at all. My older MBP has a problem with the RAM and although it sometimes runs ok, it frequently crashes into an un-wakeable black screen where it just beeps at me until the battery runs out. I tried to get it fixed but the apple technicians said the problem was caused by too much exposure to moisture (it had spent a lot of time in tropical countries without aircon) and was terminal. I simply ordered the cheapest version that was at least as powerful as my old machine. I only found out that there was a new model when I was placing the order!
It is very pretty though :-)

I'm getting one.
The cheapest 15" to get the radeon gpu for all my cad drawing.
I'm not sure if it's better to just order from apple now, sit back and await delivery around new years or if I should hope it will show up in stock in a local shop before that.

@chrisbmx116 yes, I've tried OpenOffice on another machine and it worked ok for most situations but the version I had really struggled with track changes which is pretty core to a lot of my work.
