Unless it's my change of route, it seems to be getting more common at crossroads with traffic lights that drivers turning right are not yielding to oncoming traffic but trying to floor it across the junction as soon as the lights change before the oncoming traffic moves off so they don't have to wait all those valuable seconds. The junction of Hornsey Road and Tollington Road seems to be a particular favourite.
As someone who likes to make a brisk start from the lights, I shall have to add this to my list of everyday dickmoves to take into account.
