Will Sram Omnium Cranks be compatible with Sugino 75 DD bottom bracket?
No. 75DD axle is 24mm at both bearings, like Shimano. Omnomnoms us a GXP axle which is 24mm on the drive side and 22mm on the non-drive side. The method of axial location is different, Sugino and Shimano use a sliding fit spline with end float adjusted by the left crank bolt and locked by cinch bolts to clamp the spline. GXP uses an interference fitted spline with the NDS bearing trapped between the left crank and a shoulder on the axle to eliminate end float.
Thanks, I'm asking as I've been sold the Sram crank with a 'compatible' bb (s75)
Wasn't convinced they'd work together from little bits of info I'd read online but was assured they would by the seller. it's good to have the in depth break down!
