Well saved. Got to love a bit of rear wheel steering though. Always exciting!

Ah dang! Same thing happened here for the first time. Cold tyre made contact with paint strips. No shin destruction, but plenty of pant one. Laughed manically all the way to work.

I have a TomTom Urban Rider (4GC01) gathering dust. £40 anyone? I think I have the box and manual somewhere, but you'd need to buy a new mount as it was attached to my stolen bike

Nearly had one of them last night, usual taxi going and indicating left then random abrupt u turn. Thankfully I'd already started braking as soon as he indicated left, as they often pull that trick. Know a guy who lost a testicle thanks to an unlicensed taxi doing that

I bought the Scrambler in the end :)
A bit of a departure from my strict brief of modern, common and Japanese.
Really loving it. Still getting used to a fairly chunky bike. Things like the gear change are a lot longer and heavier than the naked Jap bikes I'd tried out.
The main thing is it puts a smile on my face.
I'll get some pics up at some point.

My bike needs a new chain and sprockets, and tyres.
Bye all money! -

OK well here's a ropey on NDS one...
It now has a rear rack and should hopefully have engine crash bars and bash plate at the weekend..

I know this is a common complaint, but fuck me how hard is it to get the seat off?!
Ordered some long M6 bolts to try this conversion.
I did look for some torx bolts but they are a bit pricey for something I'm not 100% sure works yet.

Any decent make, I use my local hydraulic place and make sure you get stainless steel ends.

Keep your eyes peeled for a full system on eBay and whatnot. I recall my mate's scrambler exhaust weighing as much as a small Galaxy. Great weight saving and they sound great with a loud pipe. Have fun!

Stupid isn't it? I think they're well desgned bikes for the most part but fucking hell those bolts.
I ended up buying a set of black hand turning ones. Look beautiful. Absolute waste of money. But still.

Looks great, shouldn't it have gaiters on the front forks though?

Made Vegas! Long, occasionally hard, occasionally fast (hit 75 on deep sand / gravel for a spell.) Caught some monster air, got absolutely caked in silt and dust. Poor visibility a lot of the time and some truly monster rocks. Husky was bulletproof reliable and a proper rocket ship. Very stable. Oh - fucking unbelievably cold in the mornings and evenings. Painful.
Awesome.

well done, have you got any pictures you can share?

Yeehah, congrats. I hope you go-pro'd that shit, think I'll go watch a Steve McQueen montage from On Any Sunday.

gaiters
Yes it should. Previous owner didn't like the look apparently.
I'm planning to put some on as it doesn't have fork shields(?) ... and because I like them - I think unless you have small headlight brackets showing the top section of fork tube they look a bit odd. It's a bit of an involved installation process, so I need to have a think about the logistics without a bike jack.
I've also got a bash plate and set of engine dresser bars / crash bars which should get fitted a bit sooner. Unfortunately I don't have the fixing hardware for either. I'm going to respray the bash plate black and put some mesh behind the holes and I'm also half toying with the idea of installing some sort of mini fog / spot lights to the dresser bars for the winter - to make me more visible, rather than to see by. Current thoughts are those little mtb lights.

I only took a couple as my phone kept dying - here's a snap from day one just outside Barstow. Taken at the bottom of an incredibly steep hill...

Looks easy. Could have done that on the Harley...

Ha! ;) That was probably the most knackering bit of the ride as I had to walk back up the mountain in full kit and help carry down about 4 more bikes!
Had a proper rear wobble the other night. Cold tyres, giving it a bit too much and bike off vertical a little. Instinctively put my leg out and foot peg whacked into my calf when it swung back. Huge bruise. A wake up call for sure
