Nice work! Sub-40 just a matter of time, especially on a flatter course. Fancy Chichester in Jan? That'll probably be one of my pre-VMLM warm-up races.

A fairly tough but entertaining XC course on Saturday, South of the Thames race at Polesden Lacey National Trust near Box Hill. Despite some cautious running downhill on stony paths with gnarly tree roots covered in leaves, I managed to run 40 seconds quicker than last year, and 25th overall (/300) compared to 36th. 3 more XC races over the next 3 weekends including both Kent and Southern Vets champs. Ironic that being old means I get to punish myself more often. :)

That's the one. I can't tell you what the route is like because they've changed it for next year, but it's a well established event and attracts a really strong field. I very much doubt they'd want to scupper their reputation for having a fast race so it should be good for a PB.
