That was my point. Their customer service is legendary for all the wrong reasons.

Yup, got that - should've replied to the person you were replying to. It took me about 6 weeks to get my 6 month old frame warrantied after the dropout cracked, everyone I spoke to at PBK was friendly and nice, but the whole process was painfully slow and they appeared to be completely inept.
