Gotcha, thought you're talking about the track one.
Go for the oval chainring, this is me calling you stupid.

First Brompton commute today. I was worried that I'd made a big mistake, as however much I raised the the top bit of the telescopic post it still felt a bit low, with a lot of pressure on my knees.
Ended up maxing out the post and then realised almost at the end of the commute that the bottom bit of the seatpost had been slipping. Tightened the QR with the adjustable wrench and all was well with the world, was overtaking roadies and generally having a nice time. I could get used to this, I think.

I bloody love it - genuinely makes my journey to work fun!

Yep! Proper fun. Out of the saddle feels very weird, and the jump between gears is massive.
Just checked strava though, 4th fastest today on the bit of embankment west of Vauxhall Bridge and only 15 seconds slower than my roadie pb. Wtf?

Haha - I ended up accidentally doing a few laps of regents yesterday evening in between a coffee with a mate, wasn't actually too difficult hovering around the 30kph mark!

At some point next year, hopefully when I've finished my next Brompton project (the Brompton of Bling), I'm going to do one of my club 10s on a Brompton*. I reckon I should be able to go faster than evens. Maybe. Full skinsuit, pointy hat and condom shoe covers, of course.
- It may not be next year. I've been saying this for a while...

Just rolling up to qualify at next years RHC London would be rad, someone making it to the final would be insane and obvs open to a deal from Brompton for a race special or something :)

I love wheel sucking roadies on my 2 speed. They get well narky. I just sitting and spin as they click through the gears trying to drop me. Then they blow and I just coast past..

This would be fun. We'd need to be fixed..?
-
• #2449
I nearly blindly entered the first one, thankfully i was too late.
I don't recall any real rules on ability and bikes must be brakeless fixed and pretty much good to race.
I would barely have surrived a few laps in practice, it just looked fun.
Will go and have a rummage see if they have actual bike rules...... :) -
• #2450
Seemed more simple when i looked for the first race.
Bikes must be legit track bikes.
No fixed conversions. ( rules out anything not designed as a track bike )
Drop bars only. ( no risers )
Clipped in. (no flats and straps)Ohh and i see someone was naughty with EPO and banned for life. All got a bit serious.
Brompton RHC dream over :( would have been fun watching, maybe Brompton would adopt it for the Brommie world champs thing they do........
Not bothering with the track version, not when the road version is identical bar 130BCD and for double/triple. Also a lot easier to find good condition/new 54T 3/32" 130BCD chainrings, even allowing oval chainrings if I wanted to be really stupid......
