If my commute was longer I'd full on Lycra the shit out of it as it's way more comfortable and practical - fuck people thinking you're a pervert, only you know your real perversions. So long as you don't take them on the train, no one will be any the wiser!

If you're going option 1 then I'd go shorts on top. Added bonus that you'll have pockets when fumbling with brompton, bag, wallet, tickets, etc.

Your commute is much longer than the average Bromptoneer, I'd wear what you feel comfortable with.

I have a sartorial dilemma for my first ride in on my Brompton tomorrow. It's gonna be drive - ride (0.5 mile) - train - ride (9 mile). Got a shower and office clothes at work.
Do I bib tights and L/S jersey and accept that train people will think I'm a pervert? Or do I civvies and put up with discomfort and potentially pisswet/dirty clothes? If the former, do I wear some dignity shorts over the top of the tights? 🤔
